Remove the Health Hazardous Sewage Treatment Plant and Dumpyard in Indirapuram
The Issue
I am a resident of Indirapuram, a neighborhood now clouded by the toxic stench emanating from a nearby sewage treatment plant and dumpyard. I see my beloved home, teeming with vibrant kids ready to conquer the future, and wise senior citizens who have given their life’s labor to build this community, being slowly poisoned by the harmful appliance of the sewage treatment plant and the dumpyard. The matter is grave enough to prompt my appeal here, as our health and quality of life are at risk.
Indirapuram, known for its calm and serene residential appeal, is being compromised due to the proximity of these facilities. The unarguably toxic and harmful smell is perennial, affecting not just our day to day life but also harbouring potential long term health impacts. There is the disturbing issue of waste burning in the dumpyard too, releasing hazardous smoke which again, we residents have to breathe.
The facts speak for themselves - this situation is in direct violation of the Environmental Protection Act 1986 that prohibits such industries to operate within residential areas. The burden of these violations is carried by all of us - the innocent residents who imagined a fresh and comfortable life in Indirapuram.
Henceforth, as a community representative, I am starting this urgent petition to have the Sewage Treatment Plant and Dumpyard moved away from the residential area of Indirapuram. I am confident that with your support, we can persuade our local authority to prioritize the health of families, children, and older adults over the currently located facilities.
Please, sign this petition to help us reclaim a healthy, toxin-free environment in Indirapuram. Together, we can fight for the breath of our families, for the heartbeats of our kids for the serenity of our elders. Together, we can aid Indirapuram to breathe clean again.
