Did you know dog-friendly cafes are banned in Victoria?

We know Victorians love their dogs and their coffee.

But right now it is illegal for cafes to let people enjoy their brunch and coffee indoors without leaving their dog outside in the cold.

In our local area, we've seen local cafes fined $2,000 for allowing well-behaved dogs into their premises. 

We think that's wrong.

We want to give cafe owners the freedom to run their cafe the way they want. 

This won't let dogs into every cafe, but it will mean more choice for cafes and their customers.

It will give cafe owners the voluntary choice to allow leashed, well-behaved dogs in indoor dining areas. That's how it works in London, Paris and Berlin. 

Many cafes and small businesses are struggling in the current economic environment. This change would support local cafes to welcome more customers more often.
