Remove Speed Tables from Ward 17, Kamm's Corners, Cleveland

The Issue

I am a resident of Ward 17 (Kamm's Corners) in Cleveland, OH and I recently experienced a dangerous incident involving the speed tables in our neighborhood. While driving, I nearly bottomed out my car on these unmarked hazards. This alarming occurrence has raised my concern about not only the general safety of my vehicle but also about how effective the streets will be plowed when winter arrives.

It's not just me; many other residents share this concern. Speed tables can cause significant damage to vehicles if not properly indicated and designed. They can also obstruct winter services like road plowing, potentially exacerbating the risk of accidents on icy roads (Maly, Clevenger, & Bigelow, 2016). Removing them would not only ensure better road safety but also smoother winter street maintenance in Ward 17.

No speeding related accidents or fatalities have happened in Ward 17 on the streets these obstructions were installed.

We, the residents and business owners of Ward 17, along with the patrons and visitors from nearby communities, strongly urge the city of Cleveland to assess the accessibility of our roads and consider the removal of these speed tables.
