The meeting happened and it did not go well. Even though they understand our concerns; they will be going ahead with the permanent bumps as originally planned.
They are doing it because children walk to school there. Their research showed, that the speed and the flow of traffic has been reduced; and they were pleased with that.
If you want to see an example of what to expect for the permanent bumps, they referenced Lancaster Rd. in Walnut Creek. I drove there recently myself. It is maybe a 10%-15% improvement ( in my opinion) from the current, temporary bumps. But you can check for yourself. When they are going to be replaced is not known; and there is nothing we can do to make them change their mind about it.
Next time you vote for new city government officials, I would ask about their position on bumps and other traffic calming solutions and vote accordingly.
