Why this matters

We love attending the Kindness and Friendship Community on Zoom. It is supposed to be a warm, welcoming space where people can relax, socialize, and build genuine connections. Recently, however, a new feature has been introduced that is doing the exact opposite: automated voice announcements that blast across every breakout room.

Right now, when we are in the middle of great conversations or trying to enjoy the vibe, every room is interrupted by a jarring alert tone followed by a flat, robotic voice. Instead of feeling like a friendly gathering, it sounds like an automated PA system at a chaotic train station or airport terminal.

Hearing a cold, mechanical voice interrupt our chats to announce things like:

"Please proceed in an orderly fashion."
"We appreciate cooperation."
"The party night experience."
...completely kills the mood. Nothing says "Kindness and Friendship" or "party night" quite like feeling as though you are being herded through airport security or waiting on a delayed commuter train. It is loud, disruptive to ongoing conversations, and takes away from the human warmth that makes this community special in the first place.

What we are asking for

We appreciate the hosts' efforts to keep events organised, but the current audio alerts are not working for the community. We are asking the organisers and co-hosts to make one of the following simple changes:

Return to Text-Only Alerts (Preferred): Remove the audio announcements altogether and use standard Zoom text broadcast messages to share updates across breakout rooms without interrupting people mid-sentence.
Change the Voice and Script: If audio announcements must stay, replace the robotic text-to-speech voice with a warm, natural-sounding human voice (or a real recording from a host), and ditch the rigid, authoritarian phrasing.
Remove the Alert Tone: Drop the harsh train-station chime so announcements don't startle everyone in the room.
