Remove Restrictions For Asymptomatic Covid Close Contacts In ACT
The issue
We are clearly moving into a new phase of living with the virus. But the rules are not changing quickly enough to reflect that.
the backlog of tests is causing results to frequently come back after a persons isolation period has ended, often as negative. This means the person(s) have missed a week of work and isolated unnecessarily.
businesses are closing for no reason. Childcare centres are having to shut their doors for up to a week while waiting for pointless test results from staff members. Families lives are being upended constantly and needlessly
The pressure and stress being heaped on businesses and families is unreasonable and unsustainable
we the undersigned therefore demand that all restrictions for asymptomatic close contacts (including children) be removed immediately.
Consideration should also be given to allowing positive cases to be trusted to self manage. ie: strongly recommend the person stays home until they feel well
