Remove Prime Minister Anthony Albanese from office

The Issue

We, the undersigned, urge the removal of Anthony Albanese from the office of Prime Minister of Australia following his government's failure to take decisive, preventative action against the alarming rise of antisemitism, culminating in the horrific terror attack at the Hanukkah celebration on Bondi Beach on December 14, 2025.

As a Jewish person living in Australia, I am deeply saddened and distressed by the alarming rise in antisemitism within our country. I have watched with disappointment as Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, despite his power and platform, has done little to combat this growing wave of hate. Leaders who remain silent or inactive in the face of such discrimination are failing in their duty to protect all citizens and ensure a safe environment for everyone, irrespective of their racial or religious identities.

Antisemitism is not just a problem for the Jewish community; it is a societal disease. Data from the Executive Council of Australian Jewry (ECAJ) shows that antisemitic incidents in Australia have been at historically high levels, remaining almost five times the average annual number recorded before October 7, 2023. The ECAJ's latest annual report documented 1,654 anti-Jewish incidents in the 12 months leading up to September 30, 2025. The number of serious incidents, including arson and vandalism attacks against Jewish institutions (33 cases), were reported as the highest on record. This rising wave of hate was a clear precursor to the terror attack at Bondi.

The leadership vacuum in addressing antisemitism not only shows a lack of empathy and action but also sets a dangerous precedent where hate can grow unchecked. While Prime Minister Albanese has since rightly condemned the Bondi massacre as a horrific act of antisemitic terrorism and vowed to 'eradicate it,' his government's prior actions were insufficient. The Prime Minister's own Special Envoy to combat antisemitism, Jillian Segal, has sought an urgent acceleration of her own recommendations, stating that 'calling it out is not enough.' The fact that this terror attack could occur on his watch, despite clear warnings and record-high levels of documented hate, demonstrates a profound failure of preventative leadership and security prioritization.

Prime Minister Albanese’s continued reluctance to speak out and take decisive action against antisemitism represents a significant failure in leadership. Australians need a Prime Minister who prioritizes the safety and well-being of all communities, ensuring that our beloved nation remains a beacon of hope and tolerance.

I urge you to sign this petition to remove Anthony Albanese from office and demand a leadership change. Together, we can demand a leader who truly embodies the principles of diversity, inclusion, and justice by proactively fighting hate in all its forms and fully protecting the rights and dignity of every Australian citizen.
