HOLD OFFICERS ACCOUNTABLE from Woodstock Police Department

HOLD OFFICERS ACCOUNTABLE from Woodstock Police Department
The Issue
Having experienced firsthand the brutality and unjust actions of certain officers, I find it imperative to call attention to the behavior exhibited by Officers Justin Davis, Kyle Potts, and Caylah Molley of the Woodstock Police Department. (Any donations are appreciated $dsmacksss working diligently to get the justice I deserve)
Officer Justin Davis slammed me on my face in an act of sheer force, which left me struggling to breathe. The traumatic experience didn’t stop there. Officer Caylah Molley falsely accused me of being agitated and possessing a potential weapon and claimed I resisted arrest—a blatant fabrication meant to justify their actions. To further wash their hands of wrongdoing, Officer Kyle Potts dismissed the incident by suggesting it was my fault, minimizing the ordeal by reporting over the radio that I was fighting the officers.
These actions violate the integrity of the police force and diminish the trust of the community they swore to serve and protect. The inappropriate and criminal conduct demonstrated by these officers needs to be addressed immediately to prevent further harm and to maintain justice and accountability within our law enforcement. No community should bear witness to such misconduct without consequence, and no individual should endure the trauma that I went through at the hands of those who are supposed to uphold the law.
Documented cases from around the country exemplify how unchecked police brutality fosters a culture of abuse, contributing to the mistrust between citizens and law enforcement officers. According to a recent study conducted by the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, communities with validated reports of police misconduct often witness an increase in crime rates as public trust diminishes. Additionally, public funds are spent settling civil lawsuits stemming from such incidents, further taxing community resources.
To restore trust and accountability, it is essential to take decisive action. We urgently need the responsible authorities to:
1. Initiate an independent investigation into the accusations against Officers Justin Davis, Kyle Potts, and Caylah Molley.
2. Remove these officers from duty pending the outcome of the investigation.
3. Implement regular sensitivity and de-escalation training for officer proficiency in handling similar situations appropriately.
Accountability and justice should not be optional but a fundamental requirement of any law enforcement agency. By signing this petition, you support a call for immediate action and reform within the Woodstock Police Department to ensure the safety and well-being of all citizens.
