Remove Naveed Baqir from the Christina Board of Education - NOW
The Issue
Dr. Naveed Baqir was elected to the Christina Board of Education in 2021. At the time of his election, he purported to live at an address within Christina School District Nominating District F (13 Buttonwood Court) although evidence has come to light that he was living at 131 Arielle Court, which is in a different school board nominating district.
Public records suggest nothing about Dr. Baqir's current "official" Delaware address, or why he remains holed up in Pakistan, is straightforward.
As a result of all of this confusion, and general outrage over recent actions, CSD board members have been fielding many queries about Dr. Baqir:
- Does he legitimately hold a seat on the CSD Board of Education or did he commit election fraud?
- What is his involvement with the many shell companies which received state and federal education funding?
- Why was he not able to come back to the US this past summer as it is known that most Pakistani medical schools are on break in July?
- Baqir is said to be attending Dow University of Health Sciences in Karachi, Pakistan. Why would he choose to attend medical school in a foreign country when he is a publicly elected official in Delaware?
- Why would Baqir claim he has been caring for his ailing relatives when his parents currently live in Delaware?
- Why does he insist on claiming to 'represent' residents of the Christina School District when he all he can provide to anyone who reaches out to him is a canned email response - if he responds at all?
Dr. Baqir's refusal to step down from the CSD Board and allow a physically present and geographically legitimate resident of CSD Nominating District F to represent Christina constituents further jeopardizes an already tainted Christina School District reputation.
If Dr. Baqir had the best interest of the district in his heart and mind, he would step down.
If the current CSD Board Leadership had the best interest of ALL Christina students in mind it would ask Dr. Baqir to step down.
Sadly, neither Dr. Baqir or the current CSD Board leadership seem to have the best interest of the Christina community in mind.
All enraged and frustrated members of the Christina community are asked to sign this petition demanding that Dr. Naveed Baqir be removed from the Christina Board of Education with immediate effect.
