The Issue
**Petition to Remove Food Cart from the Cafeteria at Henderson Inclusion School**
Date: December 18,2024
To the Parents, Guardians, and Administration of Henderson Inclusion School,
We, the undersigned parents and guardians of students at Henderson Inclusion School, are writing to express our urgent concern regarding the safety of our children in the cafeteria. It has come to our attention that a first-grade student recently suffered burns due to the food cart currently in use. This incident has raised significant alarm among our community about the potential risks associated with this equipment.
The safety and well-being of our children should always be our top priority. We believe that the presence of the food cart poses an unnecessary hazard, especially for our young students who may not fully understand how to navigate around hot surfaces or sharp edges. In light of this unfortunate incident, we urge the school administration to take immediate action to remove the food cart from the cafeteria until a thorough review can be conducted to ensure it meets all safety standards.
Furthermore, we request that the school explore alternative options for serving food that prioritize the health and safety of our children. This could include implementing safer serving methods or upgrading to equipment designed with child safety in mind. And effective immediately mandatory adult supervision at ALL times to ensure such a tragedy never occurs again.
We appreciate your attention to this matter and urge you to act swiftly to safeguard our children's environment. Let us come together as a community to ensure that our school continues to be a safe and nurturing place for all students.
Sincerely,
Crystal Wyse
