Our University is facing a crisis: Many dedicated staff members at Bloomsburg University are being retrenched in addition to tuition, food, and housing price increases. As we examine this issue more closely, it's evident that the issue isn't with Bloomsburg, but rather with the Lock Haven and Mansfield campuses. Their outdated majors and outclassed programs have burdened the university's resources and have led to these unfortunate staff cuts.

As a student of Bloomsburg University, it is disheartening to witness the negative impact that these two campuses have had on our education. These campuses haven't adapted to modern educational needs, offering majors that are not aligned with current market demands. Unfortunately, this has resulted in low enrollment numbers and a substantial financial drain on our resources, compelling the university to make tough decisions such as the retrenchment of over 100 of our valued staff and faculty.

Cutting LockHaven and Mansfield would not only ensure the financial stability of the university but also repair its reputation as a provider of high-quality education. By focusing on strengthening Bloomsburg, we can invest in applicable courses and useful facilities that attract new students and prepare them for the competitive job market. 

Furthermore, reallocating funds from the underperforming campuses could help retain our valued staff, preserving their expertise and relationships that benefit the entire student body. Also, we will preserve the affordable cost of tuition that has drawn so many students to Bloomsburg.
