Hello Anchorage Library Supporters:

Today Mayor Bronson nominated two people to be on the Anchorage Library Advisory Board. Several concerns:

1.) The Mayor has just thrown these two nominees onto the assembly last minute with no time for a confirmation hearing or proper vetting.

2.) These nominees have no relevant library or library advocacy experience. They appear to have been chosen due to ideological alignment with the Mayor.

3.) It's unclear who these nominees are replacing. There is only one open seat. It's unclear if the person currently in the position would like to continue and is more qualified but is being pushed out for sometime more ideologically aligned with the Mayor.

4.) Diversity of opinion on the library advisory board is important. These nominees do not represent that.
