To my fellow Emmonak Tribal Members
I discovered that many years’ audits of our Tribal Council are not publicly available. Some may have been suppressed, which raised serious questions and intrigued me to find out why.
I have formally requested the Single Audit reporting packages for fiscal years 2021–2024 under 2 CFR § 200.512(b)(2). If any audits are incomplete or not yet submitted, I have requested written confirmation of their status.
Federal law requires these audits to be accessible to tribal members. Transparency is not optional—it is a legal requirement and a safeguard for our tribe.
Our tribe receives substantial federal funding for programs, services, and opportunities that benefit all of us. Every member has the right to know how these funds are accounted for and managed.
I am pursuing this with careful research, full knowledge of the regulations, and a commitment to accountability. I expect a timely response and will keep you informed every step of the way.
Our people deserve clarity. Our tribe deserves integrity. Together, we can make sure our tribe remains strong, respected, and fully protected.
I will always be here, watching out for our tribe and standing for our people, now and for generations to come.
