This petition comes from a place of deep concern and fear. I am a mother of two innocent children living in Durham Region, Ontario where Keith Theodore Constantin, a high risk sex offender, is within walking distance from our home. We were alarmed when he was released from prison after committing heinous acts of sexual assault and violence. This is the same region that houses 136 schools and nearly 79,000 students. It is a clear and present danger allowing such an individual to reside here.

Durham Region has always been a family-oriented community. We are a strong, tight-knit community focusing on the safe and fruitful upbringing of our children. With someone like Keith Theodore Constantin living freely within our territories, this peace and safety are under threat. Parents' rights to assure safety for their children are being challenged. Our children’s right to safety, a basic human right, is under peril.

Knowing that a high risk sex offender lives within proximity of where children grow, learn and play is creating an atmosphere of fear and concern that none of us should have to endure. We are a community in distress, vocalizing our concerns in the hope of immediate action.

For the safety of our children and the peace of our community, we ask for Keith Theodore Constantin to be relocated from Durham Region. We plead to local law enforcement authorities, and policy makers, for your attention, understanding and prompt action on this matter.
