As a concerned member of the Cave Creek Unified School District, I am deeply disturbed by the overreach and invasion of privacy that GoGuardian has allowed within our school district. This software, intended to protect students and enhance their learning experience, has instead become a tool for unwarranted surveillance. There have been instances where teachers were found monitoring students outside of their designated class periods.

The use of GoGuardian in our schools is not only infringing on student privacy but also creating an environment where trust between educators and students is eroded. It's important to remember that according to the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), "students do not shed their constitutional rights at the schoolhouse gate" (Tinker v. Des Moines Independent Community School District).

We need to ensure that our children are educated in an environment that respects their individual rights and fosters mutual respect between teachers and students. Therefore, we call on the Cave Creek Unified School District to remove GoGuardian from its schools immediately.
