The Issue

It doesn’t matter if you or your family are on public or private water supply, you could still be affected. The FDA does NOT enforce companies selling food or drinks to include fluoride on the ingredients label. Everyone should take the time and get involved in changing your health and your community! Yes, Fluoride has many benefits when applied topically. However, there are no studies showing the long term effects from ingesting or bathing with Fluoride over the course of ones entire life. Why are we drinking a chemical the FDA and CDC has continued to admit is poisonous and states on the warning label “DO NOT SWALLOW”?????
The National Institute of Health states, "In 1962, the FDA unlawfully began adding Fluoride to public water supplies throughout the United States to prevent tooth decay. However, the decision was approved without any long-term research or testing. In 2015, research initiated the FDA and EPA to lower the "healthy" amount of fluoride intake. They lowered it from a 4.0 mg/l to 0.7 mg/l. This is a very large decrease, over 300% less fluoride per liter of water. However, many public water companies maintain 1 mg/l of fluoride in order to comply with the FDA. If a town water supply does not have the recommended amount of Fluoride, the serving Town/Municipality will receive a fine from the Environmental Protection Agency. Many cities and towns have already begun removing fluoride and have filed lawsuits suing the Mosaic Companies, one of the major fluoride distributers for $2 Billion dollars."(According to PR Newswire https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/fluoridation-chemical-company-fined-2-billion-300155874.html
"Approximately 80% or more of orally ingested fluoride is absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract [1]. In adults, about 50% of absorbed fluoride is retained, and bones and teeth store about 99% of fluoride in the body [1,3]. The other 50% is excreted in urine [1]. In young children, up to 80% of absorbed fluoride is retained because more is taken up by bones and teeth than in adults [1].
Individual fluoride status is not typically assessed, although fluoride concentrations can be measured in plasma, saliva, urine, bones, nails, hair, and teeth [4,5]. Criteria for adequate, high, or low levels of fluoride in the body have not been established."(According to the National Institute of Health https://ods.od.nih.gov/factsheets/Fluoride-HealthProfessional/
The NIH further states : "In 1962, it amended its recommended level in 2015 to 0.7 mg/L to maintain the ability to prevent caries while minimizing the risk of dental fluorosis [7,9]. In 1986, guidelines from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) established a maximum allowable concentration of 4.0 mg/L fluoride in public drinking water systems to prevent adverse effects from fluoride exposure (such as bone disease) and a recommended maximum concentration of 2.0 mg/L to prevent dental fluorosis [3,10]. A review of this regulation is a currently a low priority for the EPA [11]."
If you think your bottle water is safe, think again. The NIH and FDA state: "Fluoride is not typically added to bottled drinking waters. However, when fluoride is added, the bottle’s label is not required to list the amount unless the label makes a claim about the product’s fluoride content [15]. By law, the amount of fluoride added to bottled water cannot exceed 1.7 mg/L [3]. In 2019, FDA proposed revising the quality standard for bottled water and thereby limiting the amount of fluoride to no more than 0.7 mg/L, but this rule has not yet been finalized." The Boothbay Region has one of the highest elderly populations in Lincoln County and the State of Maine. Yes, there are many benefits to using Fluoride for topical dental treatments. However, there are no adequate studies showing the benefits to ingesting Fluoride along with getting Fluoride treatments and using toothpaste with Fluoride. Ingesting more than the "healthy amount" of Fluoride can not only have severe side effects but could potentially be fatal. The overdose/side effects can start within 30 minutes of consuming too much Fluoride. The known side effects for both children and adults range from brittle bones, nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain, ADD, Autism and Dementia to name a few. It is unknown how much Fluoride is building up in our bones and throughout our bodies. We are also exposed to Fluoride through daily bathing and any other food or drink that may be contaminated. It is astonishing to see the damage the Fluoride does to the plumbing, walls and even fire alarms in the room that contains the fluoride. All mechanical devices have to replaced every few years. The chemical is so strong your eyes will burn.
For over 25 years I suffered with severe abdominal and stomach pain, fatigue, nausea nearly all day every day. I've had every test done with results showing my stomach lining was inflamed and no allergen was found. I researched Fluoride filtration systems and installed a water filtration system to remove 90% of the Fluoride from my drinking water. Since adding my filtration system I have felt 80% better but still have lingering nausea and fatigue.
Whether you or your family use public water or private water, you are still possible affected by the Fluoride that is throughout our countries public drinking supply and contaminating our public food and drinking supplies. Many states and communities have passed laws and have removed the Fluoride from their public drinking water. With enough voices being heard, the Boothbay Region and the state of Maine could be the next state to remove Fluoride from the public drinking supply. We need clean, safe and healthy drinking water for our community.
