Now the rest of the story.
A county vote only reaches the county's cameras. The beach towns — Carolina Beach, Kure Beach, and Wrightsville Beach — still run their own, and so do the Brunswick, Pender, Columbus, and Onslow boards. That's why this petition isn't finished. It keeps the pressure where it still belongs: on the towns and counties around us that are tracking everyone who drives past. Keep signing. Keep sharing. Every name from those communities is one more their officials have to answer to.
There's now a statewide petition. When you first signed, none existed to end warrantless ALPR surveillance across all of North Carolina.
