As residents of Leeds, we are deeply concerned about the unsightly waste bin installation that has been placed in front of our homes. The council's decision to install these bins without consulting all the residents and disregarding the concerns of those who opposed them is unacceptable. We believe that these bins are not only inappropriately located but also devalue our properties, negatively impacting our quality of life.

Personal Story:
I am a resident of LS16 5HG and I have witnessed first-hand the negative effects caused by these poorly placed waste bins. Not only do they obstruct the views from many elderly residents' windows, but they also create an eyesore in what was once a pleasant neighborhood. The council's lack of consideration for the aesthetics and impact on property values is deeply disheartening.

Reasons for Removal:
1. Lack of Consultation: The council failed to consult all residents before installing these bins, denying us an opportunity to voice our concerns or suggest alternative locations.

2. Inappropriate Placement: These waste bins have been installed right in front of our homes, blocking views and creating an unattractive environment that affects both homeowners and tenants alike.

3. Property Devaluation: Studies have shown that poorly located waste facilities can significantly decrease property values. By allowing this installation without considering its impact on property prices, the council is neglecting its duty to protect homeowners' investments.

4. Inconvenience for Elderly Residents: Contrary to their intended purpose, these bins make it more difficult for elderly residents to dispose of their waste conveniently. Many struggle with opening them due to design flaws and find themselves having to walk longer distances just to access them.

5. Rodents/Vermin - these bins will eventually attract mice, rats and foxes - not to mention the bad smells and waste around the floor when bins are "missed". 

6. Fly-Tipping - non residents already have disposed of large volumes of waste in these bins 

Financial Mismanagement:
Furthermore, we strongly object to how public funds have been wasted on this unnecessary installation without any accountability. The council should not be allowed to squander our hard-earned money without facing consequences or providing a satisfactory explanation for their actions.

We, the undersigned residents of Leeds, demand that the council takes immediate action to remove these eyesore waste bins from in front of our homes. We urge the council to consult with all residents and find alternative, more suitable locations for waste disposal facilities that do not devalue our properties or obstruct our views.
