Dr. Theresa Rouse, Superintendent of Joliet District 86 Schools has failed in her duty to maintain transparency and safeguard student welfare. It has come to light that an employee, charged with possession of child pornography, was under criminal investigation. Disturbingly, neither the community nor the School Board was notified of this investigation. This gross oversight has severely eroded the trust between the school administration and the families it is meant to serve.

The safety of our children is paramount, yet the administration allowed a staff member under active investigation to remain employed, pending investigation outcomes. This was done without any transparent disclosure to the School Board, parents and guardians, and the greater community, leaving our children vulnerable. It is unacceptable that our educational leaders put the security of students at risk by not taking immediate, transparent actions to address the situation.

As members of this community, we deserve leaders who act decisively and transparently. We must hold the Dr. There's Rouse accountable for these serious lapses in judgment and demand an immediate overhaul of the protocols governing staff investigations.
