This week, a Los Angeles jury made history, finding Meta and Google liable for deliberately designing their platforms to addict young users, and ordering them to pay $6 million in damages. It's the first time a jury has held Big Tech accountable for the addictive design of social media platforms, and it sends a clear message to CEOs across the industry that the era of operating without consequence is over. Mason, the young person behind this petition, put it simply: "I'm surprised it has taken this long for these companies to be sued, but I'm glad that they have been found guilty."

The fight isn't over — but this verdict proves that when people speak up, things change. Mason started this petition because he believes companies like Roblox need to be held to that same standard of accountability. If you agree, you can click here to share his petition with someone you know.
