In recent times, my experience on Fortnite has been overshadowed by an increasing frustration – the unfair advantages enjoyed by PC players who often rely on hacks. As an avid console player who has invested countless hours into this game, it's disheartening to see the balance skewed so heavily against those of us who just want to enjoy a fair match.

Cross-play was introduced with the noble intention of unifying players across platforms and increasing the player base. However, for many console players, this has resulted in an uneven playing field. PC players, equipped with advanced peripherals, mods, and hacks, have transformed what should be thrilling and competitive matches into one-sided slaughters. The joy and competitive spirit that once pulled me into Fortnite have been eclipsed by a sense of powerlessness and frustration.

Statistics reveal that PC players generally have a higher setup cost, often affording them more sophisticated hardware and software capabilities. Data released by gaming monitors and various studies indicate that there are substantial differences in skill expression capabilities due to this technology gap. Furthermore, gaming communities regularly spotlight PC hacking incidents that lead to suspensions or bans, further evidencing the prevalence of this issue.

The solution, in this case, is straightforward and can be immediately implemented: remove or give players the option to disable cross-play in Fortnite. Doing so would allow console players, like myself, to engage in matches that are competitive and enjoyable, where strategy and skills determine the outcome, not the sophistication of one's gaming rig or the presence of illicit mods.

This petition is a call to action for Epic Games to listen to its community. We want a level playing field and the chance to play Fortnite as it was meant to be played: fairly and enjoyably.
