We are all still in the fight to remove Commissioner Atkins from the bench. He continues to ignore the responsibilities of his position and refuses to step down. Instead of properly reviewing each case, he appears to rubber-stamp them with minimal effort—if he even remembers them at all.

Time and time again, parents show up hoping for real consideration, only to face a commissioner who seems more focused on what beer he’ll have at happy hour than the lives he’s affecting. He rarely, if ever, makes meaningful decisions, allowing cases to drag on while parents are left emotionally and financially drained. It’s as if the ongoing struggle benefits the system more than the people in it.

Many of us have noticed the same troubling pattern: custody cases are left unresolved, change is avoided, and families suffer—all while the court profits and Atkins keeps his seat.
