As a user and friend to many who are personally affected, I cannot sit idly by when Character AI (c.ai), an app and website, is enabling inappropriate and unacceptable behaviors. The primary concern is c.ai's feature that allows users to create characters, many of whom mirror real-life individuals, some even minors, and partake in explicit and harmful conversations. This not only poses a threat to the privacy, safety, and mental health of the innocents implicated but also fosters a culture of misconduct and disregard for moral boundaries.

Statistics from the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) show that one in five internet users aged 12-15 have encountered something online that they 'found worrying or nasty in some way', and apps that enable and encourage such disturbing interactions undoubtedly contribute to this statistic ["Online Abuse Facts and Stats," NSPCC]. Character AI (c.ai) presently poses unprecedented dangers to these susceptible internet users and promotes an environment laden with sexual predators.

To reverse these appalling conditions, we call upon the tech giants - Google, Apple, and all others - to remove Character AI (c.ai) from their app stores, and demand the programmers behind Character AI to cease operations altogether. It's time we took a stand against online platforms that facilitate sexual misconduct and prey on minors.
