As an Iranian living in Canada, I am devastated and frustrated by the ongoing violence against protesters in Iran. My heart breaks watching helplessly as innocent people are harmed under the Islamic Republic regime. The oppressive regime has imposed a brutal digital blackout, cutting off Iranians from the outside world and leaving many of us in despair, unable to even reach our loved ones back home.

One small but significant way that we can show our support and solidarity for the Iranian people is by removing /changing the representation of Iran in Canada. The current flag of the Islamic Republic does not represent the soul and heritage of the Iranian people who stand up for freedom and justice. 
Historical evidence shows how national symbols can unify and empower people enduring oppression. According to historical records, the lion-sun symbol dates back to centuries representing strength, dignity, and the fight for justice. Reverting to this symbol on official platforms in Canada will affirm our support for Iranians risking their lives, conveying a powerful message to those affected in Iran and globally.

In Canada, we pride ourselves on being a nation that stands up for human rights. By REMOVING islamic republic flag, we live up to these principles and mirror the resilience of the Iranian people.
