Remove CEC Mr Gyanesh Kumar & Conduct a transparent enquiry into all the allegations against ECI in the last 3 years
ಮುಖ್ಯ ಚುನಾವಣಾ ಆಯುಕ್ತ (CEC) ಜ್ಞಾನೇಶ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಅವರನ್ನು ಹುದ್ದೆಯಿಂದ ವಜಾಗೊಳಿಸಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಕಳೆದ 3 ವರ್ಷಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರತೀಯ ಚುನಾವಣಾ ಆಯೋಗದ (ECI) ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಬಂದಿರುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಆರೋಪಗಳ ಕುರಿತು ಪಾರದರ್ಶಕ ತನಿಖೆ ನಡೆಸಿ.

We, the undersigned citizens, are deeply concerned by recent reports regarding internal objections raised within the Election Commission of India.

According to an investigation published by The Indian Express on September 23, 2026, Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi recorded objections on at least 14 occasions over the past ten months concerning decisions relating to voter registration, deletion and restoration of names, changes to Form 6, and the centralisation of electoral-roll data. The report states that some of these objections described actions as “unauthorised” or “illegal.”
The Election Commission has stated that its final decisions were unanimous decisions of the full Commission.

But in the last few years, serious and grave issues were raised by many individuals, political parties, former CECs and even formal supreme court and high court judges on the conduct of CEC Gyanesh Kumar. Nearly half a crore people were disenfranchised in West Bengal and more than 30 lakhs people in fact filed petitions before tribunals.

In view of these serious issues, it’s necessary to conduct a transparent, independent examination of the issues raised, public disclosure of relevant records, and appropriate accountability wherever violations or procedural failures are established.

India’s democracy requires an Election Commission whose independence, transparency and credibility are beyond reasonable doubt. Till such an impartial enquiry is conducted we demand the removal of CEC Mr Gyanesh Kumar from his post.

ಸಹಿ ಮಾಡಿರುವ ನಾಗರಿಕರಾದ ನಾವು, ಭಾರತೀಯ ಚುನಾವಣಾ ಆಯೋಗದ ಆಂತರಿಕ ಆಕ್ಷೇಪಣೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದ ಇತ್ತೀಚಿನ ವರದಿಗಳಿಂದ ತೀವ್ರ ಕಳವಳಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದೇವೆ.

ದಿ ಇಂಡಿಯನ್ ಎಕ್ಸ್‌ಪ್ರೆಸ್ ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್ 23, 2026 ರಂದು ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿದ ತನಿಖಾ ವರದಿಯ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ಚುನಾವಣಾ ಆಯುಕ್ತರಾದ ಸುಖ್‌ಬೀರ್ ಸಿಂಗ್ ಸಂಧು ಮತ್ತು ವಿವೇಕ್ ಜೋಶಿ ಅವರು ಮತದಾರರ ನೋಂದಣಿ, ಹೆಸರುಗಳ ತೆಗೆದುಹಾಕುವಿಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಮರುಸೇರ್ಪಡೆ, ಫಾರ್ಮ್ 6 ರ ಬದಲಾವಣೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಮತದಾರರ ಪಟ್ಟಿ ದತ್ತಾಂಶದ ಕೇಂದ್ರೀಕರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದ ನಿರ್ಧಾರಗಳ ಕುರಿತು ಕಳೆದ ಹತ್ತು ತಿಂಗಳುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕನಿಷ್ಠ 14 ಸಂದರ್ಭಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಆಕ್ಷೇಪಣೆಗಳನ್ನು ದಾಖಲಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈ ಆಕ್ಷೇಪಣೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವು ಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು "ಅನಧಿಕೃತ" ಅಥವಾ "ಕಾನೂನುಬಾಹಿರ" ಎಂದು ಬಣ್ಣಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ವರದಿ ತಿಳಿಸಿದೆ.

ಆಯೋಗದ ಅಂತಿಮ ನಿರ್ಧಾರಗಳು ಪೂರ್ಣ ಆಯೋಗದ ಸರ್ವಾನುಮತದ ನಿರ್ಧಾರಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದವು ಎಂದು ಚುನಾವಣಾ ಆಯೋಗ ಹೇಳಿದೆ.

ಆದರೆ ಕಳೆದ ಕೆಲವು ವರ್ಷಗಳಲ್ಲಿ, ಮುಖ್ಯ ಚುನಾವಣಾ ಆಯುಕ್ತ ಜ್ಞಾನೇಶ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಅವರ ನಡವಳಿಕೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಹಲವಾರು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳು, ರಾಜಕೀಯ ಪಕ್ಷಗಳು, ಮಾಜಿ ಸಿಇಸಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಸುಪ್ರೀಂ ಕೋರ್ಟ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಹೈಕೋರ್ಟ್‌ನ ಮಾಜಿ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಧೀಶರು ತೀವ್ರತರವಾದ ಮತ್ತು ಗಂಭೀರವಾದ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಪಶ್ಚಿಮ ಬಂಗಾಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಮಾರು ಅರ್ಧ ಕೋಟಿ ಜನರು ತಮ್ಮ ಮತದಾನದ ಹಕ್ಕನ್ನು ಕಳೆದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಮತ್ತು 30 ಲಕ್ಷಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಜನರು ನ್ಯಾಯಾಧಿಕರಣಗಳ (tribunals) ಮುಂದೆ ಅರ್ಜಿಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಈ ಗಂಭೀರ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ, ಎತ್ತಲಾದ ವಿಷಯಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಪಾರದರ್ಶಕ, ಸ್ವತಂತ್ರ ತನಿಖೆ ನಡೆಸುವುದು, ಸಂಬಂಧಿತ ದಾಖಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕವಾಗಿ ಬಹಿರಂಗಪಡಿಸುವುದು ಮತ್ತು ಉಲ್ಲಂಘನೆಗಳು ಅಥವಾ ಕಾರ್ಯವಿಧಾನದ ವೈಫಲ್ಯಗಳು ಕಂಡುಬಂದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೂಕ್ತ ಹೊಣೆಗಾರಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ನಿಗದಿಪಡಿಸುವುದು ಅಗತ್ಯವಾಗಿದೆ.

ಭಾರತದ ಪ್ರಜಾಪ್ರಭುತ್ವಕ್ಕೆ ಅದರ ಸ್ವಾಯತ್ತತೆ, ಪಾರದರ್ಶಕತೆ ಮತ್ತು ವಿಶ್ವಾಸಾರ್ಹತೆಯು ಯಾವುದೇ ಅನುಮಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಆಸ್ಪದವಿಲ್ಲದಂತಿರುವ ಚುನಾವಣಾ ಆಯೋಗದ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿದೆ. ಇಂತಹ ನಿಷ್ಪಕ್ಷಪಾತ ತನಿಖೆ ನಡೆಯುವವರೆಗೆ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಚುನಾವಣಾ ಆಯುಕ್ತರಾದ ಜ್ಞಾನೇಶ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಅವರನ್ನು ಅವರ ಹುದ್ದೆಯಿಂದ ವಜಾಗೊಳಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ನಾವು ಆಗ್ರಹಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ.
