While Mahony enjoys the good life and all the perks, including first class travel, brand-new car, full-time cook, a house keeper, a secretary and a state-of-the-art ham-radio studio, the entire Los Angeles diocese child protection office is under-staffed because of budget constraints. One person is in charge of the child protection and victims assistance offices in a diocese of 6 million Catholics, 300+ parishes and over 400 priests.
Also, it is noticeable that while Mahony is pro-illegal immigration and considers the wall that president Trump wants to build immoral, his house is surrounded by fences and “no-trespassing” signs.
