Remove BAH from snap/ebt calculations

Remove BAH from snap/ebt calculations
The Issue
I made this petition to make sure that resources such as snap/ebt are equally available for militaryfamilies. This issue affects the military community as a whole, on and off base/military installations. We need change now! Please sign and share with others!
"If you receive Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) and reside off the installation then your BAH will be included as income when computing eligibility and will count against you." Says military one source. Yet applications are still being denied to families despite qualifying for the help.
military families struggle just as much as non military affiliated families. However we have a LESS chance of receiving help even tho dietary and allergy restrictions are a real thing in ALL families. Some have a harder time finding food, and resources are VERY limited. This is true for ALL families in America but military affiliated families specifically are LESS likely to be approved for snap due to these circumstances. Living on or off base should not determine or count against military families because quality of housing on installations isn't always better. Many deal with broken or molded and damaged housing on base along with the food struggles.
A recent article by nbc news reads the following:
"It's difficult to quantify the full scope of the problem. The Department of Defense doesn't collect data on how many service members are seeking food assistance. But interviews with dozens of military family members, as well as visits to makeshift food pantries like the one at Dewey Elementary, indicate that the number of military families struggling to put food on the table is substantial."
Many families apply and reapply to only continuously be denied the help they seek.
Sign this petition to be noticed and be a part of a well deserved change for the families of those who give this country their time, health, life and so much more. Stand up for you military families as they stand up for you.
