Today I'm thinking about all the mothers like me that I see in forums discussing where they can buy dye-free medication that is also covered under their medical plan. If their medical plans refuse to cover a dye-free alternative from a compound pharmacy, these mothers are buying capsules and transferring the medication themselves by hand. The fact that it's come to this, breaks my heart.

If you haven't followed To Dye For: A Documentary yet, check them out (https://www.todyeforthedocumentary.com/ The filmmaker discusses one of the families she interviewed, where the child would have seizures after consuming allura red, and yet their medication contained allura red. Since she was at the mercy of the insurance company in the United States, she was forced to buy the medicine with the ingredient her daughter was allergic to. How is this happening in 2024?

These are the stories that keep me going with this petition, with this conversation, long after my friends stop liking and sharing my posts.

My daughter has given me a challenge, she believes that all this talk will eventually make change - and these additives will be removed from (at the very least) medicine in Canada. I hope she's right, so I keep going. The Canadian Bureau of Chemical Safety have yet to reply to me in regards to the newest studies showing IBS, Gastritis, and other inflammatory diseases being caused by consuming allura red. It takes years for these systems to catch up to the science, and in the meantime, how much damage is being done?

Another study that caught my attention recently was another animal study, showing testicular malfunction in rats who consumed sunset yellow. A newborn baby being fed life-saving antibiotics is a miracle of modern medicine. A newborn baby being fed antibiotics coloured unnecessarily with a petroleum by-product known to cause testicular malfunction in small animals, is more than a small oversight. It's despicable.

Thanks for your support, reach out if you want any more information, and please share my petition far and wide if you're like me, and hope this change can happen in our lifetime.
