Thank-you for helping me to spread the word, and get some support behind an issue that is very close to my heart.
Coincidentally, there was a CBC Marketplace Investigation on food dye on Friday that shed some light on the 6 billion dollar dye industry, and gained a lot of support online for the removal of dye, which was just what we needed! If you missed it, here's the link:

The information that was revealed was not news to me, but news to many others who didn't realize the health implications. The cliffs notes are:
1. Dye is a petroleum by-product.
2. Recent studies confirmed inflammation of the gut results from chronic exposure.
3. Companies already create dye-free options, package them and ship them to European countries like Denmark.
4. The European Union declared white dye called titanium dioxide unsafe and banned it based on scientific research. Health Canada determined that same study was not conclusive and refused to ban it.
5. Health Canada determined that 8% of children affected is not enough to ban the products, requesting more proof by way of scientific evidence be completed.
What the investigation failed to mention, but I wish they had:
1. It's not only in junk food, it's in MEDICINE and childrens TOOTHPASTE.
2. Averse health conditions have resulted from consumption of dye since day 1, when it first hit the market in 1907.
3. The safety concerns were the reason the government, the regulator, and the dye manufacturers work so closely together.
4. The dye manufacturers re-defined the term "harmless" in the American Courts in 1961.
(Message me for sources!)
To me, the dangers are very clear. If you've read this far, this is obviously an issue you also care deeply about, so thanks again for listening.
I hope my next update will be some more traction on the issue of dye in medicine. Please keep talking about this issue, share with friends and family, and thanks again for your support!
