Remove Anthony Albanese as Prime Minister of Australia

Australians deserve national leadership that is accountable to the people and maintains the confidence of Parliament.

This petition calls on Members of the House of Representatives to withdraw their confidence from Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and support parliamentary action that would result in a change of Prime Minister.

Many Australians have expressed frustration over election commitments, cost-of-living pressures and the performance of the Federal Government. One frequently cited example is the pre-election commitment concerning a $275 reduction in household electricity bills, which has become a significant point of political criticism as households have instead experienced substantial increases in energy costs.

Australians are entitled to scrutinise commitments made during election campaigns and to demand accountability when promised outcomes are not delivered.

There is also public debate over government spending priorities, including expenditure on overseas aid and international programs at a time when Australians are dealing with high costs for housing, groceries, electricity, fuel and other necessities.

Accountability also requires Australians to be able to question their elected representatives and receive clear explanations for government decisions. Australians should be able to expect transparency, direct answers and responsibility from those holding the country's highest political offices.

Under Australia's system of responsible government, the Prime Minister must maintain the confidence of the House of Representatives. A vote of no confidence is the clearest parliamentary mechanism for demonstrating that this support has been lost. Parliament of Australia

We therefore call on Members of the House of Representatives to withdraw their confidence from Anthony Albanese as Prime Minister and take the parliamentary steps available to bring about a change in national leadership.

This petition is not asking Anthony Albanese simply to choose whether or not to resign. It is calling on Australia's elected representatives to exercise their constitutional and parliamentary responsibilities and determine whether he continues to command the confidence required to remain Prime Minister.

If you believe the Prime Minister should no longer have the confidence of the House of Representatives, add your name and make your position known.
