We’re making progress

First, we want to thank everyone for their support and encouragement. We recently spoke with a city councillor, who has committed to investigating the issue with city staff. We have confirmed that only the parks department can authorize any changes and so we will soon share our petition with senior parks department managers to force a decision. We currently have 137 signatures, but we need many more. We are talking to everyone we meet who live in the neighbourhood and/or use the park, but we also ask that you help us by sharing this petition and also asking family members and friends for their support. We have also learned that the environmental impact is severe and requires attention to reverse the damage. Lastly, we have support from the local daycare managers who are concerned for their clients children who want to play in the park but are not allowed to for fear of injury and negative interactions with players. Thank you all for your continued support - you are making a difference!
