Thank you for signing the petition to remove and ban LED advertising from Stanstead Rd. We now have over 200 signatures, which is an amazing result and shows that so many in our community would like to reclaim public realm from global advertisers in our lovely local area.

The first important test for our campaign is the forthcoming Planning Inspectorate decision on the appeal by the billboard company to install the second LED screen at 293 Stanstead Rd, the Post Office building.

The original application was rejected by Lewisham Council on a technicality: the application did not include an assessment of impact on the nearby speed camera. The applicants have now included this assessment concluding, obviously, that there is no impact.

Whilst this campaign engages with the Planning Inspectorate, they must review and consider all comments submitted to them directly by the interested parties. Therefore, can we ask each and every one of our supporters to make a direct representation to the Planning Inspectorate, including the reasons why the second LED screens should not be approved.

Please follow the link to the appeal on the Planning Inspectorate website (case ref 3337064) and click on the button in the top right corner to submit your objection. You are welcome to use the petition's wording, or write your own reasons.

Yours,

The Campaign Team
