Instead of focusing on facts, Alderperson Heather Kuhl made the employment of Officer Joseph Mensah a racial issue. And did so in her own unjust words and actions.

Alderperson Heather Kuhl—who is white—demanded that Officer Mensah—who is black—be fired to help “repair the damage” of Wauwatosa’s “racist history” as she claimed.

Yes, a white city official demanded the firing of a black officer to somehow fix the city's "racist history."

Kuhl sent a letter to the Wauwatosa (WI) Police & Fire Commission demanding the termination of Police Officer Joseph Mensah for these reasons. This is a clear violation of Officer Mensah's Equal Employment Opportunity rights.

Alderperson Kuhl clearly tried to influence the commission with her letter. And Officer Mensah was suspended the next day.

The Wauwatosa Police Officers Association and the National Fraternal Order of Police have spoken out against Kuhl.

Kuhl was outspoken. But now, as the Sentinel reported, "Kuhl did not comment on a reporter's questions on the WPOA's claims."

That should tell you something.

Please sign the petition—and help stop systematic racism now!

And please contact the City Administrator to begin proceedings to remove Alderperson Kuhl.
