I am R.S. Manasa,  Advocate from Uppal, Hyderabad.

I am starting this petition not only for residents of uppal,  Alakapoor & Nagole, but for ALL passengers and daily commuters who travel on this road. ( from tarnaka to lb nagar metro line road) 

Every day, lakhs of people travel through Alakapoor Township Main Junction, Nagole Metro Station Junction, and Nagole  and uppal X Roads - office goers, students, auto & cab drivers, senior citizens, pregnant women, and patients going to hospitals.

At these junctions, instead of one standard speed breaker, 10 to 20 rumble strips are laid continuously in a long stretch of 20-30 meters.

These are NOT normal speed breakers. When bikes, autos, cars and buses pass over them, it creates severe continuous vibration for 20-30 meters.

I am seeing more and more people around me suffering with:
1. Cervical (Neck) Pain
2. Severe Lower Back Pain & Disc Problems
3. Spinal Jerks causing more pain to senior citizens, women and patients in ambulances

At junctions, vehicles already slow down. There is no need for such a long series of strips. These strips are  to be  verified  whether those are laid as per IRC standards, and whether  maintained  the proper distance in between similar lines on the same road  and  whether any warning boards displayed. 

This problem is not only for Alakapoor & Nagole, uppal  residents. It affects EVERY passenger who passes through this route, even once.

Our Demands to GHMC:
1. Inspect all junctions in Uppal,  Alakapoor & Nagole immediately.
2. Remove the long continuous rumble strips.
3. If needed, replace with ONE standard speed breaker with proper paint and sign board.

This is not just about roads, this is about public health of lakhs of commuters.

I request the Commissioner, GHMC, Hyderabad to take immediate action in public interest.
