There is a new initiative to bring down the Wittenberg Judensau, the Jew-Pig sculpture. A Lutheran pastor from the eastern city of Leipzig, which is not so far from Wittenberg, has organised a weekly prayer vigil/watch. For our friends outside Germany, it is important to know that weekly Monday demonstrations held after prayers for peace in Leipzig starting in 1989 helped trigger the fall of the Berlin Wall. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monday_demonstrations_in_East_Germany The organiser of this silent prayer vigil, which will take place by the Judensau every Wednesday starting on May 17th until the end of June, is Pastor Thomas Piehler from Leipzig. He came to the meeting Richard Harvey addressed in January. He was dressed up like Martin Luther with a yellow star of David pinned to his chest. He has asked the Evangelical Sisters of Mary from Darmstadt for support and they will send a small group to the first vigil, which will take place from 3pm to 7 pm. There will be posters displayed with short slogans regarding the Judensau but no discussions. The city council gave the permission without any difficulties. http://gge-deutschland.de/UploadDatei/GG3_2014_ANSICHT.pdf
