Growing up without a local NBA team has a unique impact on individuals- like myself- who yearn for the best experiences in the sporting world. For us, basketball isn't just a past time but rather an integral part of our identity. Supporting a team hours away from home isn't the same as having the thrill of shouting for a home team in victory or defeat. The void I feel epitomizes the sentiment that countless residents of Kansas City, Missouri, and the larger Midwest region indeed share. We miss the joy, the culture, the unity, and the economic opportunities that the Kings brought to our region. 

It's noteworthy to mention that California is already home to four NBA teams, while the larger Midwest has just one. When the kings were part of our community, we took the culture that came with it for granted, and its absence has been deeply felt. Kansas City Missouri is a bustling sports city, with the capacity and willingness to welcome the Kings back.

Kansas City and the surrounding Midwest states present a vibrant, sports-loving community that would revitalize the Kings’ fanbase. The relocation would not only boost the local economy but also bring back the beloved culture of NBA basketball to our hometown. I believe it's time for the Sacramento Kings to return to the Kansas City metro, where they'd be celebrated royally.
