Relocate Muppet Vision 3D

The Issue

As many of you have heard, Muppet Vision 3D will be closing on June 7, 2025 to make room for the Monsters Inc expansion.  This is heartbreaking for Muppet fans of all ages.  One reason why it’s heartbreaking is because this was Jim Henson’s last project before he passed.  Taking away a part of his legacy would be like taking away part of Walt’s legacy.  To honor Jim Henson and everything he accomplished, I’m proposing to relocate Muppet Vision 3D elsewhere at Walt Disney World.

One venue that would be ideal is in the Magic Eye Theater at Epcot.  It would be a great location for several reasons.  First of all, this venue was built for 3D movies.  Before the Disney Pixar Shorts Film Festival opened, the theater was home to two films, Captain EO and Honey, I Shrunk the Audience!  Both of these shows of course had various special effects.  Another reason why this would be a great new home for Muppet Vision 3D is because it would fit with the theming of Epcot.  Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker have been featured in the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival in recent years.  The film also basically explains and demonstrates how 3D films are made, particularly during the scene in Muppet Labs with Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker.

For me personally, I’ve been a fan of the Muppets since before I said my first words, and they’re the reason why I became a Disney fan in the first place.  My first Disney movie was actually Muppet Christmas Carol.  When my parents finally took my sister and I to Disney World, of course we had to go see Muppet Vision 3D.  I remember being amazed by everything from the pre show onward.  My dad told me recently that no matter how many times you watch the show, it never gets old.  It’s absolutely true.  The Muppets are just timeless.  I know we’re getting a new version of Rock n Rollercoaster featuring Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem, but the park has enough thrill rides.  There are some adults that can’t do rollercoasters, and having Muppet Vision 3D around gives guests of all ages to sit back and relax from the stress of their park day while they laugh out loud at cheap 3D tricks and other jokes.  Thanks for your consideration and understanding!
