Dear District Attorney Lee Kindlon,

I'm reaching out to you regarding an investigation into the indictment and conviction of Gavin Thomas. He was convicted in the state courts of three counts of criminal possession of a weapon and sentenced, as a second violent felony offender, to 15 years in prison. In fact, Thomas was transported by Albany police officers from 123 Livingston Ave and detained for five (5) hours at Albany Police South Station without any charges or in possession of a weapon. However, APD applied for a search warrant at

202 Jefferson St., "allegedly finding weapons" which were unrelated to Thomas and the vicinity he was detained and arrested from.

As you are aware; ex-ADA Steven Sharp, was terminated from the DA office for unethical conduct. Furthermore, Sharp and Kathryn Conklin-Maybe failed to disclose their business relationship to the courts and Thomas.

Unfortunately, Sharp was the district attorney prosecuting Thomas' case and did not recuse himself from the case. In furtherance, Sharp allegedly had access to "Client files" of Coleman's firm- including, presumably, Thomas'

More disturbing, Sharp obtained an invalid indictment when he swapped Isaiah Anderson grand jury minutes with Thomas to secure a conviction. Sharp testified at Thomas' sentencing "He admitted to possessing fire arms" to the grand jury. Although; Thomas was not accorded the opportunity to be present at his Grand jury proceedings or face his accusers, he was indicted. However, Isaiah Anderson went before the grand jury the same day Thomas was supposed to appear. It was Anderson who admitted to possessing firearms not Thomas.

The indictment into Gavin Thomas case calls upon you to take immediate action to rectify this situation. An reassessment of his indictment is not only necessary but is an obligation to safeguard the integrity of our justice system and the values it stands to uphold.

Please illuminate the truth by verifying the evidence presented to the grand jury proceeding and transcripts that led to a True Bill signed by the Forman. If Thomas was charged under Isiah Anderson indictment this would be a serious miscarriage of justice and would highlight the urgent need for Thomas' release. Help bring this father home to his family.

Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to your response.

Lea Johnson
