The Issue

For those who know or have never played this game before, Toonstruck is a graphic adventure video game developed by Burst studios, and published by virgin interactive entertainment, it features talented actors such as,  Tim Curry, Tress MacNeille, Rob Paulsen, Kathie Souice,  Jim Cummings, Dan castallana, David Ogden Stiers, Don Deluse and staring the famous Christopher Lloyd who portrays the main character Drew Blanc, who is in fact, not animated,  a writer Drew Blanc is having trouble coming up with new cartoon ideas,  and later he is transported to the very toon world in which he's writing,  he embarks on a journey to stop a mad scientist known as Count Nefarious, who wants to acquire the cuteifier and transform cuteopia and turn it into his own evilized world, Blanc is also accompanied by his animated side kick Flux Wildly.  the game went into production in 1993, and was first intended to be a children's game, but was later re-written to be more adult oriented, virgin interactive entertainment invested 8$ million dollars, it was released in 1996, and was well recived by critics and even included in lists of several best adventure games of all time.

however, despite the significantly positive reviews, the game ended up being a comercial failiare, as it didn't sell too well, and failed to meet the intended audience, for teens and adults had mistaken it for a children's game, and it was released at a poor marketing timing, cause at the time of its release, other game companies were developing more 3d animated games compared to 2d, and some viewers deemed it a little outdated, not only that, but the original game was meant to be significantly longer than it was, but they decided to split it into 2 parts either that  or since the budget for the game was so high they removed some of those levels and preserved them for a possible sequel , but due to how poorly the game sold, virgin entertainment had no motivation to fund the sequel.

however Keith Aram, who obtained the animation rights to Toonstruck, has expressed interest in re-releasing the game as a remastered version, which would include the second half of the game. However, after stating he would need tremendous fan support to justify a Toonstruck re-release, a petition calling for the sequel was created in 2010 by fans. A Facebook group and a Twitter account were also launched to support the endeavor; the Facebook group currently has over 2,000 members. In February 2014, Arem posted on Facebook stating that he would need to raise significant capital and fan interest to attract investors and bring the re-release project to life. According to posts from Arem in 2016, there are still unresolved copyright issues preventing him from going forward with the project, but wrote that his team has been working to consolidate and negotiate rights.

Prior to Arem's interest in reviving Toonstruck 2, an Internet forum of dedicated fans of the game had previously attempted to piece together the unreleased content into a playable fan-made game. The increased interest in a Toonstruck 2 has also led to the creation of a creepypasta story centered around the unreleased sequel.

but we can make this a reality, you heard the facts, if we raise enough attention he may get enough investors to revive this sequel, lets show him that we really do want to see drew blanc, continue his adventure.
