The Issue

A Humble request to the honourable High court, the honourable Lordships, Chief Minister of Maharashtra Mr. Devendra Fadnavis, the Forest Minister Mr. Ganesh Naik, Mr. Srinivas R. Reddy, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF), FD of TATR and all the decision makers for Wildlife in Maharashtra.

Everyone’s favourite tiger, Chota Matka, has captured the hearts of many. Known for his majestic presence and vibrant energy, Chota Matka is a symbol of the wild beauty that Tadoba jungle blesses us with. It’s heartbreaking to think that his current confinement, though necessary for treatment, could possibly extend longer than needed.

Tigers play an essential role in maintaining the health of their environment. They keep populations of prey species in check, thereby ensuring a balanced ecosystem. Chota Matka, in his home, contributes to the ecological health and biodiversity of Tadoba. Holding him longer than required disrupts this balance and denies him his natural freedom.

There is immense support from the public to see Chota Matka return to his natural habitat. Once his treatment is completed, it is crucial for his well-being, as well as the well-being of the Tadoba ecosystem, that he is promptly released back to the wild.

Chota Matka’s release would not only bring him joy but would also reassure the many people who care deeply about his welfare. We call on the authorities to prioritize his return home and to act swiftly to reinstate him to the Tadoba jungle after his recovery.

Join us in urging the concerned officials to do what is right. Sign this petition to help ensure that Chota Matka can roam free in his natural home once again.
