Backara is a recently rescued leopard who lives in the same habitat awaiting Shadow. Backara came from a tiny zoo in Ohio. The world-class veterinary care at The Wild Animal Sanctuary in Colorado has restored Backara to health, and he now enjoys the large acreage habitat with Eddy, and the other leopards residing there. Although he has been treated like a domestic pet and spent his life in a facility intended for them, Shadow has not forgotten that he is a wild black leopard. Like Backara, Shadow deserves to finally live like one. THANK YOU to the 150,000 supporters of Shadow's move to the Wild Animal Sanctuary in Colorado. His cage in the Newport News Peninsula SPCA's backyard petting zoo could better serve rescued domestic pets. Shadow's time as their main attraction should come to an end.
