The "Piano & A Microphone Gala Event" was a pair of shows held at Paisley Park Studios on January 21, 2016. These shows represent the moment when Prince was the most insightful, telling stories about the birth of his career as a musician and his father's influence on him. They represent an integral part of Prince's history as the artist we all know and love. With only a handful of amateur recordings, it's currently not possible to experience these shows in the most definitive way, as Prince intended:

• He revealed during his last public appearance he wanted to release a live album of this tour
• Both shows part of the Gala Event were professionally recorded by Infinitree Media in four different camera angles
• Scottie Baldwin did the live mix and recorded it on multitracks. Post-production work on these shows was started right after the event and they are already ready to be released

One would think such a special occasion, backed up by such a complete production, would've already seen the light of day, especially considering the fact it was the last wish Prince revealed to his fans. However, to this day, there was no official release of the Gala Event by The Prince Estate.
