Friends, we have great news!
All our and your efforts were not in vain! Sakhalin Environmental Watch @sakhalinwatch received a response from the Prosecutor General’s Office stating that the Amur Basin Environmental Prosecutor’s Office filed a lawsuit with the Yalta City Court to confiscate 6 walruses from the illegal possession of Aquatoria LLC and transfer the rights of ownership to the Russian Federation. Before considering a claim, the prosecutor's office requires interim measures in the form of arrest on animals.
⠀
Earlier, Rosprirodnadzor refused to issue CITES permits for the export of walruses to Aquatoria LLC and the prosecutor's office of the Republic of Crimea took measures to prevent the possible export of animals outside Russia.
⠀
We thank the prosecution authorities @genprocrf for their actions in defense of illegally caught and more than a year old walrus calves!
⠀
We keep our finger crossed and wish the prosecutor good luck in court!
Together we can win and return the walruses to freedom!
