After fans waiting for almost 8 years, MAPPA decided to cancel the prequel to the series "YURI!!! on ICE", which revolves around the backstory of the Russian figure skating legend Victor Nikiforov. Worldwide fans agree that our beloved anime deserves either a second season or the movie called "ICE ADOLESCENCE".

This series is not only important to the LGBTQ+ community, but also to people who have started figure skating because of it. Someone posted "i started figure skating when they first announced the movie… im going to nationals next year and theh fucking cancelled it […]" (@airiniaa on Twitter).

"YURI!!! on ICE" was trending for several days on the platform Twitter. "Ice ado cancellation announcement has 12 MILLION views in less than 24 hours… if that doesn’t say the fan base is alive and well then.., idk what does" (@KatsukiYuriKin on Twitter).

If MAPPA don’t want to animate the franchise themselves, perhaps they can sell it to ANOTHER STUDIO or to NETFLIX, some fans suggested. "Huge mistake, that movie would've been big, even olimpians hold Yuri on ice with high regard" (@idkdc__ on TikTok).
