A FAN PETITION TO RELEASE KUNG FURY 2 (KUNG FURY: THE MOVIE)

To Creasun Entertainment USA, producers, rights holders and everyone involved in Kung Fury 2:

We are the fans who have been here since the beginning. And we want justice.

Some of us discovered David Sandberg's Kung Fury back in 2013, when the original short film was still a Kickstarter dream. We waited for it. We supported it. And in 2015, we finally got to experience the crazy, unforgettable 1980s-inspired adventure that became a global cult phenomenon.

Then came Kung Fury: The Movie.

We have been waiting for this sequel for almost a decade.

The movie was filmed in 2019. A feature-length edit exists. Years of creative work went into the project, and fans have already had a glimpse of what was created through the 2025 sizzle reel. This reel gave us pure pleasure and enjoyment that I haven't gotten from any trailers. I’m not even afraid to say — from movies themselves either, except Kung Fury short film.

And yet, after all these years, we still haven't been able to watch the finished film.

Justice means giving a filmmaker the chance to finish his work and let audiences see it.

• Give David Sandberg the opportunity to finish what he started.
• Give the cast and crew the opportunity to see their work released.
• Give the fans who have waited since 2013 the opportunity to finally see Kung Fury 2.

David Sandberg started Kung Fury with an idea, a camera and a love for the movies that inspired him. Fans believed in that idea from the very beginning. They helped turn a short film into a worldwide cult phenomenon — and eventually into a feature-length sequel with an incredible cast.

For the fans who have been following this journey, Kung Fury 2 isn't just another unreleased movie.

«Imagine you've made your first short film, and it becomes the most popular in the world — it's being shown at Cannes, and Arnold Schwarzenegger himself asks you for a role in the feature-length version. Michael Fassbender, David Hasselhoff, Alexandra Shipp, and Ralf Moeller join you. You pour all your love into this film, treating it like your own child, losing sleep night after night, thinking about and working on nothing but this project. And everything is going well — but then you're told that there will be no more funding, and no one else has the right to invest money to finish the film. This is coming from the investor who voluntarily offered to cover part of the budget. Is that fair? By this decision, they are ruining the work of a huge number of people — the director, the actors. The film is almost finished; all that's left is to complete the visual effects. What is happening to Kung Fury 2 is a profound injustice. An injustice to David Sandberg and all the creators aren’t being allowed to share their creation with the world. We understand that Kung Fury 2 has faced complicated financial, legal and production issues. We do not claim to know every detail, and this petition is not intended to take sides in those disputes.

We are not asking anyone to break agreements, ignore legal proceedings or release leaked footage.

We are asking everyone involved — including Creasun Entertainment USA — to find a legitimate path forward. Let a third party finance the remaining 5–10 million dollars.

If additional financing, post-production, a new distribution partnership, streaming, VOD or another solution is needed, please explore every possible option.

That's why we're asking Creasun Entertainment USA, the filmmakers, rights holders and potential distributors:

The feature is set in 1985, the best year ever. Miami is kept safe under the watchful eye of Kung Fury, the greatest damn cop of all time. His Thundercops are the ultimate police force assembled from across history to defeat the villainous Kung Fuhrer, Adolf Hitler. After the tragic death of one of their members causes the group to disband, a mysterious villain emerges from the shadows to aid in the Fuhrer's quest to attain the ultimate weapon.
