Like so many others, I am personally touched by the suffering of women around the world.

As I write this, Iranian student Ahoo Daryaei defied Iranian authorities by stripping down to her underwear on her university campus. This profound and courageous protest against the repression of women must be heard across the world.

According to Amnesty International, women in Iran are regularly victims of legislative discrimination and violence.

With this petition, we demand the Iranian government immediately release Ahoo Daryaei. This courageous young woman defended the right of all women to have freedom and equality.

Our voices must be heard in support of Ahoo and all women who courageously resist in similar situations. Let us not abandon them. I invite you to sign this petition to demand the immediate release of Ahoo Daryaei.
