The Issue

As a person with deep roots in Pakistan, I have witnessed the struggles of this beautiful country since its independence 76 years ago. Despite its potential, progress has been hindered by corruption and bias within political and military ranks. The one beacon of hope for many, including myself, has been former Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Imran Khan's tenure as prime minister was marked by efforts to improve living standards and the overall status of Pakistan. His commitment to change was seen as a threat by those who profited from the status quo - corrupt politicians and army chiefs who orchestrated his downfall through an unjust trial.

Today, Imran Khan is imprisoned on made-up charges without being given basic human rights to defend himself. This is not just an attack on him but also an attempt to manipulate the outcome of the upcoming general election in 2024.

The United Nations Human Rights Council states that everyone charged with a penal offence has the right to be presumed innocent until proven guilty according to law in a public trial at which he has had all guarantees necessary for his defense (Article 11). Yet this fundamental right is being denied to Mr. Khan.

We cannot stand idle while such injustices occur. We demand that former Prime Minister Imran Khan be released from jail immediately and granted a fair trial where he can adequately defend himself against these allegations.

By signing this petition, you are standing up for justice, fairness, and democracy in Pakistan - values that should never be compromised no matter what political games are at play. Please sign now!
