Release Child's play (1988) deleted scenes, and make a director's cut, if possible

Release Child's play (1988) deleted scenes, and make a director's cut, if possible
The Issue
I'm aware that there are already 2 petitions so far that are focusing on this cause, but i felt that i should as well make one, to help spread the word.
I'm sure you're all familiar with the child's play franchise, its one of the most popular horror movies, for me i really like the first 3 movies, they're the most nostalgic in my opinion, bride of chucky was ok, but i don't really like the most recent ones, but any way, number 1 will always be my most favorite, i really like how the story plot flows in this one. Knowing me I'm definitely the type of person who likes to see every bit of a good movie, including watching deleted scenes, and extended editions, but as for most great movies, child's play has deleted scenes that people wish would've been kept in. I heard originally chucky was to be voiced by the late Jessica Walters, and brad Dourif would only play Charles lee ray, but the directors believed that the voice sounded too notably female, and not too much like a kid, neither did they think he sounded scary enough, so brad dourif was then scripted to provide the voice for chucky as well. There are a couple of behind the scenes footage and interviews in the bonus features, but Jessica Walter's audio recording of Chucky, is currently lost, apparently some of the scenes with chucky were reshot, and he also had an unknown man voicing him him as well (who's name is not confirmed), instead of Brad Dourif, also i heard that Brad Dourif initially turned down the entire role, but a few weeks later, he changed his mind, and decided to do it. Child's play was screen-tested in early 1988, i don't know if they used Chucky's original voice in the screen testing, but I'm inclined to believe that they used brad Dourif's voice, the movie ran for nearly 2 hours, but it received negative reviews from the audience, some directors as well complained that chucky had too much screen time, and possibly even the director from the children's classic, An American tail attended the test screening and complained about it as well, but after 25 minutes was trimmed off, the movie received greatly more positive reviews, and became a major blockbuster success, earning it 6 sequels in the process. Sadly however, for reasons unknown, the deleted scenes have never been released to the public, people have rumored that the scenes may have been destroyed by accident, but that theory has been debunked on account that one deleted scene actually was included in a documentary of the movie in a 2016 blue-ray remaster, and director Tom holland stated, at the red carpet of seed of chucky, that he has the original cut in his possession, and that they're locked in a vault in a valley, somewhere in California, but he hasn't been given the rights to release the scenes yet. Holland stated on twitter in 2023, that not only does he have the original cut and print, but the deleted scenes as well, and would gladly release them, should the studio take interest, but its not up to him to release them, MGM has the rights to all the child's play movies and scenes, and people on other social media sites believe that MGM doesn't care about the original movie, i think they're exaggerating a bit, but yeah, it will probably take a lot of people to convince MGM to release these scenes. The original script for the movie can be found here, https://archive.org/stream/ChildsPlay1988_201610/Child%27s%20Play%20(1988)_djvu.txt , you can check it out, and read through it if you're interested. so far, a majority of the scenes remain partially found, only film shots, and promotional images of them can be found, pictures will be shown in this link, as well as the deleted scenes of all the other movies, https://childsplay.fandom.com/wiki/Deleted_Scenes . Now for those reading this, and are curious as to what happens in these scenes, I'll explain down below.
( confirmed filmed scenes)
1.(Charles Lee ray confronts mike in disguise) in an extended opening scene, mike walks down the street, dressed as a woman, a van pulls up and Charles Lee Ray gets out and follows him, the driver Eddie Caputo stays behind, Charles follows Mike down an alley and pins him to the wall, thinking he's a woman, Charles pulls out a knife and holds it up to his face, but then mike kicks him in the groin, pulls out his gun, and throws off his wig, revealing he's a cop, but then Charles gets up and throws a trash can at him, mike then gets up, throws off his dress and chases after him, bringing us to the opening scene of the movie. ( the scene was cut because the directors wanted to start the film, right away with the action).
2.(Charles Lee Ray extended voodoo chant) note that this is the only scene to see the light of day, its basically the same scene, but filmed with different voice shots, along with Charles kneeling down at the doll, holding it in the air, and using an amulet to do the chant, (the amulet would later be used for bride of chucky), the scene was most likely redone to improve the acting, here's the link to the scene, https://youtu.be/MnIb6QwMZjw?si=1tgjLsJEfnIfyqLs .
3.( Andy and his mom talk about his dad) at somewhere during Andy's birthday scene, him and his mom have a conversation about his dad, who died in a car crash the previous year.
4.(Andy shows chucky his room) after Maggie tells Andy to get ready for bed, Andy shows chucky around his room, the scene occurs shortly before Andy goes to brush his teeth, and before chucky turns on the tv to watch the 9 o'clock news.
5.(Andy falls in a ditch) at the scene where Eddie Caputo's house explodes, Andy was originally meant to fall in a ditch, which would explain how he survived the explosion. (the scene was cut because the directors felt it would be easier just to have a simpler explanation of him being found outside the house, away from the blast) (unfortunately there are no pictures for this scene, for it as well as the footage is currently lost) (However, On April 22, 2021, Alex Vincent, the original actor who played Andy Barclay, uploaded an excerpt of his interview on Entertainment Tonight from 1988 to Instagram. Included was a brief shot of Andy poking his head out from the ditch he jumped into during the explosion of Eddie Caputo's house).
6.(Dr Ardmore talks to Andy) in this scene, Dr Ardmore comes into Andy's room at the clinic, and he brings in another good guy doll, he tries to convince Andy that the doll is chucky, and that he's not alive, but Andy isn't fooled, for he knows its not his doll, the doctor admits that its not Chucky, but tells him that chucky isn't alive, and even if he was, he can't get through the walls, the doctor then leaves.
7.(voodoo doctor John Bishop extended introduction) in this scene, John Bishop the voodoo Doctor, is doing one of his voodoo sessions, he waves a staff over a couple's sick baby and speaks in Hattian, he heals the baby, the couple thanks him, pays him, and leaves, John takes off his hat and coat, and hangs them up, he sets his staff aside, and goes to the kitchen, shortly afterwards, chucky arrives.
8.(Chucky stalks Andy) the scene where Chucky sneaks into the mental hospital originally ran longer, Chucky walks on the side of the building, looking for Andy, But Andy sees him coming, He grabs a table and blocks the window, preventing Chucky from getting in, so Chucky goes to find another way in.
9.(Chucky tricks a little girl) after Chucky steals the keys on the desk to Andy's room, he comes in contact with a little girl, who apparently knows Andy, he tells her that he and Andy are friends, she believes him, seeing how she's in a mental hospital, a talking doll is nothing out of the ordinary to her, he tells her to carry him to Andy's room, so he won't be detected, she holds him in front of the door, which explains how he was able to reach the lock, after he unlocks the door, she sets him down and he tells her to leave, after the girl leaves, chucky goes into Andy's room, which brings us to the scene that made it into the film. (note that this girl was in the film, she was the same girl who spoke to Andy's mom, who said she saw Andy and chucky, had this scene been kept in, it would explain a lot)
Now those are all the confirmed filmed scenes, there are a couple other scenes that were mentioned in either the script, or originally planned. the script was written in October 1987, In the script that i posted above, there was a scene at Andy's school where he's staring at the fence, shortly before his mom comes to pick him up, I also did hear that the scene from the second movie, was originally intended for this one, I'm not sure if the scene with Andy staring at the fence during recess, or if it was when Andy gets detention and Chucky kills the teacher, but anyway, whatever part involving the school was, it was scrapped from the script, and preserved for the sequel. there's also a scene in the script where Maggie arrives at the apartment and Andy shows him his birthday present Chucky, she's surprised that chucky actually works, and there is also a scene, from when chucky follows Andy back to his apartment near the end of the film, he talks to another boy from the institution named Johnny, and has him carry him to the apartment building, which explains how he got through town undetected, the boy sets Chucky down in the elevator and leaves. these three scenes were in the script as well, but it's unconfirmed if they were filmed or not, fans on various websites spoke of these scenes possibly being filmed, but it remains unconfirmed. I did hear of a scene where Andy arrives at the clinic, and he meets the little girl i mentioned earlier, thus explaining how she knows him, and rumor has it that that scene also ties into the scene with Dr Ardmore and the other good guy doll, People also assume that there is scene in which Mike and Karen survey the burnt down toy store that the peddler mentioned to mike, while both scenes are in the script, its not confirmed if either of them were actually filmed or not, or even planned to be in the film. In a documentary, a director mentioned an alternate ending, in which Andy did more if the killing on Chucky, as well as a much longer battle, what originally happened was, when Chucky enters the house, Andy ties a knife to a remote control car and stabs Chucky in the knee, then he squirts Chucky in the face with a water gun filled with Drano, which melts half his face, afterwards chucky gets the upper hand and chokes Andy unconscious with a slinky, instead of hitting him with a bat, he still does the chant, Mike and Karen still come in and save Andy just in time, and he still gets thrown in the fire, but how they finish him off is different, as the police come in along with Officer Jack Santos, Mike hits Chucky with a bat and knocks his head clean off, as his head rolls to the end of the hallway, he bites officer Jack on the knee, as his body is running towards him for a final strike, Karen takes Mikes gun and shoots Chucky dead, Chucky's head lets go of jack, and as it lays on the floor, his voice slowly reverts back to the good guy voice, and says " i love you, hidey ho, ha ha ha" before he ceases all motion, after the incident, Jack and another officer takes Chucky's burnt body back to the police station for examination, Jack insist that the doll was alive, but the officer denies it and states that he's been drinking too much coffee, after they leave, a fly buzzes around Chucky's head, the screen moves toward the window and when the screen goes dark, a slap sound could be heard before the movie ends, again it is confirmed to have been planned, but unconfirmed if it was actually filmed.
and finally, in the behind the scenes, also showed some unused lines that were also included in the script, for some scenes were a bit longer too, Chucky actually Mocks the doctor as he's Zapping him to death, he also mocks Karen as she's shooting him, these were most likely not used because it was probably making the scenes too long.
with all that said, don't hesitate to sign and promote this petition, and with enough signatures, I'm sure MGM will take notice, knowing how badly we want to see these scenes, and we'll convince them to do so, and who knows, perhaps if we start now, maybe they'll be released in DVD extras on a 40th anniversary Blu-ray edition, or even possibly a director's cut.
