The Issue
Deborah Makepeace was a British television and theater actress. With a career spanning from 1973 to 1992, her two greatest works were two BBC television series. The first was a remake of A Little Princess (1973); based on the novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett and originally starring Shirley Temple in 1939. The second was a mystery mini-series, The Chinese Puzzle (1974), which also starred William Abney (from The Six Wives of Henry VIII) and Ric Young (from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom).
Unfortunately, these two titles have yet to be remastered and released on streaming platforms.
I humbly ask for the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) and British Film Institute (BFI), to please remaster and release these titles on Amazon Prime worldwide (not just in the UK), so that audiences (who may have originally saw them when they aired on TV, or for new inquiring minds like myself) everywhere can see these rare and obscure television gems.
It has also been over twenty years since Deborah Makepeace died prematurely from cancer, and this would be a good opportunity to pay tribute to her life and career.
Please sign this petition so that we may see the release of Deborah Makepeace’s television titles A Little Princess (TV Series 1973) and The Chinese Puzzle (TV Series 1974).

PS I'm not related to Deborah Makepeace or her family. I'm just a fan of classic British cinema and television, who is paying tribute to the life and career of a brilliant actress.
