Firstly, I would like to thank everyone who has signed and shared the petition. We have reached over 600 signatures which exceeded my initial expectations, but there is a long way to go yet.
I collected the name plate that was removed from my dad's grave from the Pleasington cemetery office. I would urge everyone else to do so before they discarded the items permanently (usually after 28 days).
I was told by the cemetery office staff that they are looking at other options with regards to the name plates. I hope this is as a result of all of us coming together and voicing our grievances. I also hope there will be some consultation with families before any decision is reached.
I urge you all to carry on sharing the petition. I have spoken to a few councillors and I hope to continue to raise awareness until things change for the better.
